Thiago Silva ‘set for return’ to boyhood club Fluminense from Chelsea: Report

Thiago Silva’s Chelsea contract will expire at the end of this season.
As Thiago Silva gets ready to announce his departure from Chelsea, his boyhood club Fluminense wants to bring him back to Brazil.
As Silva’s contract ends at the conclusion of the current campaign, it is anticipated that he will leave Stamford Bridge. Fluminense are showing interest in the 39-year-old, although he is amenable to staying in the Premier League or joining a different European club.
His boys, Iago and Isago, are doing well at the Chelsea academy, and when he inevitably retires, his family is probably going to settle down in London or Paris.
Silva, who signed Chelsea on a free transfer in 2020, thinks he is capable of playing at the top level for another year even though he is set to turn 40 in September.
“You are going to know in the coming days,” Thiago Silva revealed when asked about his future after the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City. “I don’t want to say anything now. I’m sad about the result.
“I do have a decision made in my mind, but it’s not the moment to share it.”
He added, “My four years here were very good. Not that I didn’t believe in myself, but with my age and the intensity of this league…it’s rare to see players in a high level at 39.

“I don’t like to talk about myself, but you can see this. Today, I was ready to play the extra-time! I can see I have some years in me to keep enjoying football.”
Following Chelsea’s 0-1 defeat at Wembley on Saturday, the former Brazil skipper broke down in tears.
In anticipation of one of the last home matches of the season, Silva’s admirers are putting together a big crowd-surfing banner to honour his tenure at Chelsea.
