The Frenchman, Thierry Henry, appeared in 123 games for his national team.

Les Bleus have announced their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They have a star-studded lineup and are also one of the favourites to win the mega competition.

The France national football team have won FIFA’s flagship trophy twice. Once in 1998 and for the second time in 2018. They came close to winning the World Cup once again in 2022, but were restricted by Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final.

Canada, Mexico and the United States of America are going to host the upcoming edition of the mega competition. This version of the competition is going to have a total of 48 teams. There are going to be 104 matches starting from June 11, and the final is scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.

The French are placed in Group I. They will take on Senegal, Iraq and Norway in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026. In their squad, Les Bleus have young players and experienced stars.

Thierry Henry is considered one of the legends in the history of French football. As per him, AS Roma’s Manu Koné can come out on top to help the France national football team.

He has been named in the squad for Les Bleus after his performances for the Serie A side. Koné has only made 12 appearances for France. As per Henry, he is one of the best midfielders out there.

“I’m not saying that he’s going to have a brilliant World Cup or not have a brilliant World Cup. I don’t know, but there’s a guy that people don’t know much about, and he plays for Roma. I had him at the Olympics.

“It’s Manu Koné. He is, for me right now, one of the best holding midfielders out there. He’s going about his life in a quiet way,” mentioned Thierry Henry during a recent interview with SPORTbible.

He further said, “He was at Mönchengladbach. He signed for Roma. Now he’s a starter for France because, obviously, Didier Deschamps believes he can play for France.

“And since then, he’s been brilliant. I don’t think that’s a name people often mention, and he’s a starter for France. In that team, you’re going to have to be good.”

As per Thierry Henry, Manu Kone is “a very, very, very, very solid player.” There are players like Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and others in the squad. By their side, Kone might be able to unleash his full potential.
