The German almost joined the Red Devils in 2014.
The legendary Toni Kroos has revealed how close he was to joining Manchester United, but the deal fell through when David Moyes was fired during the negotiations. After the Scottish manager retired in 2013, Moyes was personally chosen to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.
After just ten months in charge, the former Everton manager was fired after a tumultuous tenure at United. But the Scotsman had been actively looking for squad reinforcements before his departure.
Getting Toni Kroos, who is regarded as one of the best midfielders of his time, would have made a significant impact for United. At the age of 24, the German international was playing for Bayern Munich.
