Never seen a kid like him: Toni Kroos heaps praise on Barcelona's Lamine Yamal

Yamal continues to be called one of the best players, even at such a young age.

Toni Kroos has heaped praise on Lamine Yamal and stated that he’s never seen anything quite like Yamal before. Yamal has continued to awe fans and pundits with his performances. Last season was a testament to his meteoric rise to become one of the most talented football players.

At the age of 15, Yamal made his debut for Barcelona and instantly became a first-team starter. Whenever he was on the pitch, he would consistently deliver a moment of brilliance that left spectators marvelling at his talent at such a tender age.

The previous campaign was another highlight of his brilliance and how he single-handedly dragged Barcelona to wins in some matches. He has earned another admirer in former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos, who talked about how he has been enthralled by Yamal’s performance.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Kroos praised the Spanish youngster and said:

“I also made the Bayern first team at 17, but I wasn’t at his level, which is spectacular. I’ve never seen anything like it at that age. I’m talking about the consistency of his performances, because the natural talent is obvious.”

“What makes me think that this boy is special is his constant search for prominence on the pitch: in difficult moments, he always steps up, and at 17 years of age, that is not normal. He was the protagonist of two excellent seasons, the last one even spectacular; I have never seen a kid like him.”

Yamal’s influence on the pitch at such a young age is commanding, to say the least. He is already reading the game and dictating the flow of the matches with his attributes. Kroos‘ comments aren’t surprising, as we have barely seen such a gifted player before, and what the 17-year-old is doing makes him a truly special talent in the sport.

He will now prepare for the upcoming season, as he once again attempts to lead the club to every trophy possible in the next campaign.
