Tottenham launch £70M bid to snatch Manchester United target Bryan Mbeumo: Report

Spurs and Red Devils set to battle for the Bees striker.
Tottenham have made a bid of £70 million to acquire Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. According to reports, they have had preliminary discussions with Brentford and may sabotage Manchester United’s ‘intrigued’ pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs’ prospects of signing Mbeumo have increased since Thomas Frank was hired. The Cameroonian forward, who flourished under their new boss at the Gtech last season, has long been coveted by the Lilywhites.
However, the Brentford striker is open to joining Manchester United, as his preferred destination is Old Trafford. But the Red Devils have had trouble reaching an agreement with the Bees. Champions League rivals Newcastle United and Arsenal also expressed interest in signing him.
Tottenham have entered the competition after United failed to reach an agreement on a deal for Mbeumo, who is said to be worth £70 million, before Frank’s arrival. Brentford and the Lilywhites have been in communication, and there is hope that the manager and player can reunite.
Tottenham Hotspur have been expressing interest in Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth and are expected to be looking for a new attacker this summer. Since bringing Mbeumo to England in 2019, Frank has been closely involved in his growth at Brentford, so he knows him very well.
Bryan Mbeumo is believed to have received an offer from United of £200,000 per week if he decides to join Amorim’s side. However, they will not play in the Champions League next season after losing to Spurs in the Europa League final.
With an incredible 20 Premier League goals last season, Mbeumo—dubbed “insane”—became the Dane’s lucky charm. He showed versatility by playing both centrally in a strong partnership with Yoane Wissa and in his favourite right-wing position.
The Red Devils could lose the race to sign the striker if Spurs agree a deal with the Bees to acquire Mbeumo. Frank’s appointment as Spurs coach can play a pivotal role in bringing the Cameroonian to the club.
