Tottenham plan to cash-in on Richarlison in summer 2024: Report
The Brazilian has failed to meet expectations since his big-money move
Just over a week after Tottenham’s humiliating home loss to Arsenal, the team recently lost 2-0 to Chelsea, clearly infuriating the Spurs manager. Since leaving Everton in 2022, Richarlison has been inconsistent and hasn’t yet proven worth the £60 million ($75.5 million) Tottenham paid for the 26-year-old, despite nearly tripling his goal total from the previous campaign.
The Telegraph claims that Postecoglou is eager to make money off of some of the team’s bench players, such as Emerson Royal and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in addition to Richarlison.
Richarlison, a striker for Tottenham, may be leaving the team after Ange Postecoglou hinted that “change” is imminent in the north of London.
For some time now, Richarlison has been connected to a move outside of the capital, and he just isn’t showing himself to be Harry Kane’s replacement. With three years remaining on his contract, the 48-cap international is reportedly attracting interest from Saudi Arabia in advance of the summer transfer season.
If Spurs want to compete with teams like Arsenal and Manchester City in the upcoming season, they will need to take some big moves during the break, and it could be better for both sides to let Richarlison depart.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday, Postecoglou warned change is needed to make Spurs competitive. He said:

“We need change. Change has to happen. You can’t want to alter your course and expect the same people are going to be on that [journey]. It’s just not going to happen,
“We’ve had two [transfer] windows and we’ve had some development of players, for sure. But when I say we’ve still got a long way to go, that’s what I’m talking about.
“It’s just that we’re going to play a certain way, we’re going to train a certain way and we’re going to have a certain mindset, and that’s not for everyone.
“And the same way, whether it’s Liverpool or Arsenal, if you look at the beginning of their journeys, by the time they win the competition or have success, the team’s almost unrecognisable.”
In an attempt to secure their spot in Europe for the upcoming campaign, Tottenham will put themselves through a rigorous test against Liverpool on Sunday. However, the Reds are also going through a difficult moment. Richarlison, who hasn’t scored since the beginning of February, is determined to win against his former Merseyside rivals.
