Tottenham Hotspur's all transfers completed so far in 2024-25
Spurs are looking to bolster their squad in order to challenge for the top four in the upcoming Premier League season.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have already commenced their Asia-themed pre-season tour this summer in order to prepare for the upcoming 2024–25 season.
After an exciting debut campaign under the Australian head coach, Tottenham managed to finish in an impressive fifth place during the 2023-24 Premier League season, securing Europa League football in the process. In order to build from a successful campaign, the club hierarchy led by their long-serving Chairman Daniel Levy have already completed multiple promising signings this summer in order to bolster the squad.
Talented and versatile midfielder Archie Gray became Tottenham Hotspur’s first big-money signing of the window, with the North London club hijacking the deal at the latter stages from Brentford. Gray enjoyed a breakout campaign at Leeds United last season. He cemented his place as a first-team regular, registering a staggering 52 appearances across all competitions.
His consistent performances guided the club to secure playoff spots in the EFL Championship. With his strong passing range and sumptuous dribbling skills, the 18-year-old Englishman has been impressive during Tottenham’s pre-season friendly matches.
Touted as a future world-class midfielder, Tottenham beat the interest of several top clubs to sign Lucas Bergvall on a permanent deal from Swedish side Djurgårdens IF. Last season, Bergvall recorded an impressive six goals and five assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.
In another shrewd piece of business in terms of long-term planning, Tottenham Hotspur also completed the signing of the highly rated South Korean winger Min-hyeok Yang from Gangwon FC for an undisclosed fee. The 18-year-old forward is set to join the Premier League club in the year 2025.
On the other hand, there have also been several noticeable outgoings from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, primarily in the form of free agents.
The biggest departure yet in terms of revenue generation has been of Welsh centre-back Joe Rodon. Rodon joined Leeds United on a permanent deal this summer after spending the last season on loan at the club in the EFL Championship.
Owing to their recurring injury problems and overall poor performances in a Tottenham shirt, both Tanguy Ndombélé and Ryan Sessegnon departed the club as free agents to join OGC Nice and Fulham respectively.
Following a successful six-month loan deal at Bayern Munich, Eric Dier permanently signed for the German giants as a free agent on the expiration of his contract at Tottenham.
Additionally, Ivan Perisic and Japhet Tanganga have also left the North London side as free agents this summer to sign for HNK Hajduk Split and Millwall respectively.
Finally, defensive midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and versatile winger Bryan Gil have secured loan moves to Olympique Marseille and Girona respectively for the upcoming season. Both the deals include potential buy option clauses in order to make the transfer permanent in the future.
With Tottenham Hotspur far from done in terms of strengthening their squad, further potential incomings and outgoings are expected in the remainder of the summer transfer window.
