Tottenham Hotspur injury news for Manchester City clash; Cristian Romero ruled out for Premier League matchday 12

Spurs are set to be without important players against City.
When Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night, they will try to cut the five-point deficit to the top-placed Liverpool.
After losing 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion and Ipswich Town, respectively, before the international break, the Cityzens and Spurs are both trying to get back on the winning track.
The Cityzens hadn’t lost this many games in a row across all competitions since 2006 (six) under former head coach Stuart Pearce. Man City’s aforementioned away loss to Brighton two weeks ago condemned Pep Guardiola to a fourth straight loss for the first time in his storied managerial career.
In Ange Postecoglou’s initial campaign, Spurs were dominating at this time last year and were only one point behind Man City at the top of the Premier League standings. A year later, after an exasperatingly inconsistent start to the current campaign, they are down 10 points and are at 10th spot.
Tottenham injury news against Man City
Micky van de Ven, a Tottenham defender, is sidelined until mid-December due to a hamstring injury. Cristian Romero also remains out and will not play against Manchester City on Saturday.
Although it sounded hopeful that Romero’s injury was not too serious, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou revealed on Friday that the World Cup champion would not play against City on Saturday.
“Romero won’t be right for tomorrow’s game,” he said. “We’re hoping he’ll be right for next week.”
“Micky is still a couple of weeks away,” revealed Postecoglou on Thursday. “He is on the grass training but he is still a couple of weeks away. We’re hoping by the middle of December he is back and available to play.”
Tottenham will be missing Rodrigo Bentancur, who was suspended by the Football Association for seven games for remarks he made a few months ago against teammate Son Heung-min. Since then, Spurs have appealed the length of the ban. Wilson Odobert and Richarlison are both out due to hamstring issues.
