Spurs opened their new season with 1-1 draw vs Leicester City.
Tottenham have announced a new set of double injuries. This weekend’s matchup versus Everton will not include Dominic Solanke and Rodrigo Bentancur.
The Uruguayan suffered a knockout during the second half of Monday night’s match with Leicester after a sickening head-on collision. “Irrespective of concussion protocols, any head injury we’ve always got to be more conservative from my perspective,” Postecoglou said.
After hobbling off against the Foxes, Pedro Porro is fine, and Yves Bissouma will also be back in the starting lineup. Wilson Odobert will be up for selection as well. Pedro Porro was seen working out after suffering a knock on Monday.
After suffering an injury, Richarlison was able to make a late appearance against Leicester and will take Solanke’s place in the starting lineup vs Toffees.
The 26-year-old, who just signed a contract for up to £65 million to join Spurs from Bournemouth, raised concerns among the supporters when he was not seen in training that week.
Ange Postecoglou said on Friday that the Englishman will miss Saturday’s matchup with Sean Dyche’s team due to an ankle knock sustained during Monday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City.
The Tottenham boss told reporters: “Dom picked up a knock in the last game. He got through the game but it flared up the day after and he’ll miss the game tomorrow.”
He added: “It’s an ankle injury, he copped it really early on, someone went across his ankle. It just depends on his recovery [when he returns], obviously we’ve got the international break. but it’s not serious.”
Though Solanke played the whole Monday night match against Leicester, it now appears that Richarlison will start in their next game. The Brazilian came on in the closing minutes of Tottenham’s match against Leicester after starting the match on the bench.
AngePostecoglou on replacing Solanke and Pedro Porro
“Richarlison is available and ready to go. He’s not played much so we’ll have to wait and see.
“[Pedro Porro] He’s fine. He trained.”
