The Brazilian full-back has been with Spurs since 2021.

Tottenham Hotspur have turned down AC Milan’s initial offer of €10m (£8.4m) for defender Emerson Royal.

A verbal and later written offer was made for the 25-year-old right-back. But, it was quickly turned down because the asking price is reportedly double the offered amount.

However, interest from Saudi clubs and Borussia Dortmund has also been reported. But, they are yet to approach Spurs for Royal.

Although they are willing to keep the Brazil international, Tottenham have searched the market for backup plans in case the former Barcelona player leaves. Bradley Locko, a 22-year-old defender for Stade Brestois, is one player under consideration by the Premier League club.

After adding midfielders Archie Grey and Lucas Bergvall as well as extending Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig, the club’s first objective still is to sign an attacker.

The team are trying to improve after finishing in fifth place in the previous campaign. This week, Spurs will play exhibition games against Hearts and Queens Park Rangers before embarking on an Asian tour.

Players such as Bryan Gil, Giovani Lo Celso, Djed Spence, Sergio Reguilon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are listed for transfer. With one year left on his contract, Hojbjerg is being pursued by a number of teams, including Galatasaray.

The Turkish club’s deputy chairman Ibrahim Hatipoglu told CNN that Hojbjerg is an excellent player. The player knows he has numerous suitors. He has further claimed that after considering all of his possibilities, he will decide his future.
