The right-back is yet to pen down a new contract with the Reds.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has continued to reject offers from Liverpool to extend his deal, which is set to expire after the end of the season, a report from Relevo suggests. The right-back is courted by many top clubs and one of them is Real Madrid, who wants to acquire the full-back for free next summer.
However, talks over a new deal with the Reds are yet to take place but the recent report of Alexander-Arnold turning down offers from the Reds on signing a new deal with them is a big setback to Liverpool fans.
The England international has also shown no intention of entertaining new offers from other clubs as his only objective is to sign a new contract with Liverpool before his deal expires, but so far he has not been happy with Anfield’s side’s latest offers.
Madrid are doing everything in their power to convince the right-back to join the Spanish club next summer as they are in desperate need of a full-back following the season-ending injury to Dani Carvajal.
It will be a massive coup for the Los Blancos if they will be able to persuade Alexander-Arnold to join them in the following summer window given the quality he will bring to the squad.
However, the Reds will hope to tie down the player for more years before his deal expires as they know the importance of Alexander-Arnold.
However, he isn’t the only one whose contract will run out after the end of the season, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s contracts will also come to an end once the season is over which is another headache for the Reds.
Liverpool’s season so far under new manager Arne Slot
Liverpool are currently top of the table in the league under new manager Arne Slot as they have been playing excellent football under new head coach and will hope to continue their brilliant football once the international break expires.
Slot will hope that the club provides the right-back with a new deal that will satisfy him as the Dutch manager would want to keep the 26-year-old at the club as he knows the importance of him in the squad.
