The full-back will miss crucial matches for Madrid.
According to ESPN, Trent Alexander-Arnold will be out for two months after suffering a hamstring injury during Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League opener on Tuesday.
Five minutes into the 2-1 comeback victory over Marseille at the Bernabéu, the 26-year-old was substituted off. His replacement, Dani Carvajal, also had a night to forget as he was sent off.
Alexander-Arnold is not expected to be ready for the El Clásico match against Barcelona and will be unavailable for the derby against Atletico Madrid due to a six-to-eight-week absence.
Alexander-Arnold is set to miss many big matches with a new injury

Despite their reluctance to take any chances, the same sources indicated that the former Liverpool player’s good physical condition might minimise the rehabilitation period.
Madrid said in a statement on Wednesday: “Following tests carried out today by the Real Madrid medical services on our player, Trent Alexander-Arnold, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. Further updates will follow.”
Thomas Tuchel had excluded Alexander-Arnold for England’s September games. The hamstring issue not only appears to be preventing him from playing in the upcoming camp, but it may also prevent him from playing for Real Madrid at Anfield.
Xabi Alonso implied that Alexander-Arnold’s injury wasn’t as serious as initially thought following Tuesday’s late victory over Marseille, which was secured by a contentious Kylian Mbappe penalty.
“We’re going to wait a bit with Trent because it might not be as bad as it seems,” Alonso stated during his press conference.
Meanwhile, despite Carvajal’s red card in the Champions League, Los Blancos will have the Spanish full-back for the LaLiga matches.
