They had a great start to the new edition, fighting back to secure a dramatic 2-2 opening-round draw against heavyweights Netherlands, coming back twice.
Tunisia and Japan have a rich competitive history, having faced off six times before, with their most famous meeting being 24 years ago at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, where co-hosts Japan secured a comfortable 2-0 victory.
They are placed in Group F of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with both nations set to compete alongside Sweden and the Netherlands to secure a top-two finish to advance to the newly introduced Round of 32.
