UEFA Europa League 2024-25 final: Start time in India, USA, UK, Australia & more

Tonight will be a spectacle of a game as we witness the sixth-ever all-English European final.

The 2024-25 season of the UEFA Europa League was a different ride altogether from its previous editions. The new ‘league phase’ format made consuming the matches and tracking one’s favourite team all the more exciting. Why wouldn’t it get exciting?

Gone are the times of the four-team group format, where we had a total of eight groups, allowing just 32 teams to compete. The 2024-25 season went on to further add four more teams, making the competition between 36 teams alive in real time. How’s that possible?

Well, all those 36 European clubs were clubbed together in a mega league table. Every result, every game started to matter as we witnessed a rollercoaster ride. The top eight teams made it directly to the Round of 16, while the next best 16 sides had to go further through a playoff round to be eligible for RO16.

In the end, we are about to see the culmination of the event in Spain. It will be the sixth-ever all-English European final. Two Premier League giants, Manchester United & Tottenham, square up for the final today.

Although we just called them giants, their performance in the domestic league has been their worst. They just managed not to get relegated. [United – 16 place finish in PL, Tottenham – 17 place finish in PL]

This UEL final comes with destiny packed behind it. A win here will give them a wild-card entry into the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League, plus allow them to have a shot at the UEFA Super Cup.

Manchester United finished strongly in the league phase. They stood at third and moved swiftly to the RO16. Meanwhile, Spurs came in at fourth. They had just one point less than the Red Devils.

In the RO16, United defeated Real Sociedad (5-2). The next round was the most thrilling of a bout for them, as they just edged past Lyon (7-6) in the quarter finals. Reaching the finals was just a walk in the park, as they crushed Athletic Club 7-1.

In the RO16, Tottenham defeated AZ Alkmaar (3-2). The next round, the quarter finals, saw them beat Eintracht Frankfurt (2-1). Reaching the finals was also a walk in the park for Spurs. They defeated Bodo/Glimt by 5-1.
