Marcelo Bielsa confirms Uruguay squad for March friendlies.
Uruguay have confirmed their squad for friendlies against England and Algeria. The team is set to play warm-up matches ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
Marcelo Bielsa has named a team mixed of young and veteran players, who could be seen as the potential players to lead the South American giants at the 2026 WC competition.
Their game against the Three Lions will be a great test for the national team. They are bidding to lift the trophy since 1950. On many occasions, they have failed to pose a threat to other national teams.
They have appeared as one of the least dominant sides in the past World Cups. However, this time, Uruguay do appear to be a side that will be looking to go all the way into the competition.
The March friendlies will demonstrate how truly prepared Bielsa’s side is. They will soon face one European and African giant in the friendlies. Uruguay will face England on 27th March and will later face Algeria on 31st March.
