USA announce squad for Concacaf Gold Cup 2025; Christian Pulisic left out

The North Americans are in Group D of the tournament.
Sergiño Dest, a defender for PSV Eindhoven and a United States international, is the most recent member of the USMNT to withdraw ahead of the Concacaf Gold Cup tournament.
Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of the USA, announced his 26-man team for the competition. Pochettino already had to deal with the absence of a number of key players, including Christian Pulisic of AC Milan (due to injury) and Antonee Robinson of Fulham (due to knee surgery), while Tim Weah and Weston McKennie of Juventus are out because of their Club World Cup commitments.
Only four players on the squad played in the nation’s 2022 FIFA World Cup finals, despite the fact that it has notable veterans like Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards, goalkeeper Matt Turner, and midfielder Tyler Adams of Bournemouth.
In addition to Dest’s release, injuries further restricted the USA manager’s options, but overall, the lineup still matches the training session squad Pochettino released back on May 22.
Goalkeepers Patrick Schulte of Columbus Crew, Zack Steffen of Colorado Rapids, midfielder Sean Zawadzki of Columbus Crew, DeJuan Jones of San Jose Earthquakes, and Folarin Balogun of AS Monaco were all forced to withdraw from the squad.
