USA starting lineup vs Türkiye confirmed for FIFA World Cup 2026 match

The USA and Türkiye last faced each other in a friendly in June 2025.

The co-hosts, the USA, are all set to lock horns against Türkiye in their last game of the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Drawn in Group D alongside Türkiye, Paraguay and Australia, the co-hosts enjoyed a stellar performance, becoming one of the earliest teams to qualify for the knockout stage and winning the group.

They commenced their campaign in the summer competition by beating Paraguay 4-1. Folarin Balogun was the USA’s top performer in the game, scoring twice in the first half. Giovanni Reyna also got his name on the scoresheet with a late goal.

The USMNT gave another decent performance in the second game, when they faced the Socceroos, who stunned Turkiye 2-0 in their first game. The deadlock was broken in the game with an own goal from Cameron Burgess, while Alex Freeman doubled the Stars and Stripes’ lead in the first half.

The co-hosts have conceded only one goal in the tournament, and they are keen to keep a clean sheet as they prepare to face Türkiye at the Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Thursday, May 25.
