The hosts have the leakiest defence among the top 10 Bundesliga sides.
The Bundesliga matchday 13 is here as Stuttgart will host Union Berlin in the battle of the mid-table warmers. One might think that there is not much at stake, but that’d be wrong.
Stuttgart (9th) are just three points behind the last European spot, while Berlin (11th) are four points behind–a ticket to play in the UEFA Conference League. But here’s the catch, the home side might be better poised to even challenge than their upcoming visitors as they are coming with four points in the last two games.
Meanwhile, Union just can’t seem to snag a victory. Their last win was on 20th Oct against Kiel. So, if they are to get into the last available European spot (realistically available for them) the fight for it must start against Stuttgart, the fellow contender.
Kick-off
Friday, 6th December, 7:30 PM UK
Saturday, 7th December, 1 AM IST
Location: MHPArena
Form
Stuttgart (in the Bundesliga): W-D-L-W-D
Union (in the Bundesliga): D-L-D-L-L
Players to watch
Ermedin Demirovic (Stuttgart)
Demirovic is Stuttgart’s man in form in front of the goal right now. At the start of the season, Undav was seen as the talisman after a stellar last season with 19 goals and 10 assists. But an injury to him meant Demirovic got his chance to shine, and boy, he did in style.
He is going strong with nine goals and an assist this season across competitions, looking unstoppable. So, if they are facing a shaken Union side don’t expect him NOT to join the goalscoring party.
Tom Rothe (Union Berlin)
There are hardly times when we want you to watch for a full-back. Well, there are exceptions, guess Rothe is one then. This 20-year-old left-back is one for the future. He has that attacking mentality about him that has got him two goals and an assist this season. But he is not afraid to put in a tackle or two when it comes to not letting his man go goal-sides.

Injury & team news
Stuttgart face several injury woes with key players sidelined, including Deniz Undav (thigh) and El Bilal Touré (ankle). Defenders Ameen Al Dakhil and Dan-Axel Zagadou add to their growing list of absentees, leaving their squad stretched ahead of the clash.
Union Berlin also have injury concerns, with Andrej Ilic and Diogo Leite out, alongside Yannic Stein nursing a shoulder injury. Despite these setbacks, Union’s defensive depth could prove pivotal as they aim to hold off Stuttgart’s attacking threats.

Match prediction VfB Stuttgart vs Union Berlin
These two have played more stalemates over the years, but at home to in-form Stuttgart, Union might struggle. They have had concerns on their travels, so we are predicting a loss for them.
