Victor Osimhen willing to join Saudi clubs if PSG move fails
PSG hope to sign Nigerian striker with mammoth release clause.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is eager to leave the Serie A team this summer. However, Osimhen might think about joining the Saudi Pro League, if his planned move to Paris Saint-Germain falls through. It is understood that PSG are hesitant to pay the Nigerian’s mammoth £113m release clause.
The Italians did make a proposal to lower the fee in exchange for the inclusion of South Korean international Kang-In Lee in a trade, but this was quickly turned down. Instead, Nordi Mukiele and Carlos Soler were mentioned, but this notion was also rejected.
The breakdown of early negotiations has made it possible for teams like Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal to bring Victor Osimhen to the Premier League. All these English clubs are linked with Osimhen as they want to bolster their offensive lines
After signing Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, the Red Devils are now focused on signing Manuel Ugarte, a midfielder for PSG, while Jadon Sancho is reportedly on the verge of leaving.
While there hasn’t been much activity at the Emirates thus far, Bologna and Italy player Riccardo Calafiori is expected to join the Gunners soon.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Guiu are among the most notable additions to Chelsea’s roster, which now stands at seven players added this summer.
As negotiations regarding his future proceed, Osimhen has begun training with Napoli under head coach Antonio Conte.
Meanwhile, the source claims that Napoli are prepared for Osimhen’s departure, and are hoping to replace him with Romelu Lukaku of Chelsea. Although Lukaku’s contract with Chelsea is still in effect, he has no intention to remain there.
In 2023, Osimhen signed a contract extension with Napoli that would keep him with the Serie A team until 2026, with the option of another season.
With 26 goals in the 2022–23 season, Osimhen helped Napoli win the league title. However, the striker failed to emulate the title-winning campaign in the past season and now his future remains up in the air.
