Viktor Gyokeres' father 'emotional' amid Arsenal deal uncertainty: Report

Sporting are yet to agree a deal with the Gunners.
According to reports, Viktor Gyokeres’ father broke down in tears when he learned that his son’s transfer from Sporting Lisbon to Arsenal could fall through at the last minute.
According to Mail Sport, Gyokeres has agreed to a five-year contract, and the clubs are nearing an agreement worth an initial £55 million with an additional £7.4 million in add-ons.
The two parties are still at disagreement over bonus payments and the instalment schedule, with Sporting demanding a larger portion of the cost up front. Arsenal had intended to finalise the deal before they left for their preseason tour of Asia on Saturday.
Gyokeres’ family affected by the delay in transfer to Arsenal
Sporting have refused to change their position, leaving Arsenal’s most recent approach unanswered for six days, according to Portuguese publication A Bola.
Gyokeres’ family is allegedly devastated, saying he deserves a better send-off for his dedication to the club, amid worries that his dream move may be slipping away.

The report further says that Gyokeres has even distanced himself from the notion of relocating to north London.
Arsenal are hesitant to comply with Sporting’s stringent bonus requirements because they believe they have made their offer as feasible as possible.
However, the Portuguese team feel that many variable payments are practically unattainable. They are also concerned that Arsenal’s proposed offer depends too much on future add-ons.
Mikel Arteta’s side will play North London rivals Tottenham in Hong Kong and AC Milan and Newcastle in Singapore as part of their Asian tour.
If the club are successful in signing, Gyokeres would probably have to wait until August 6, when the Gunners face Villarreal in their preseason match after returning from Asia.
Following that, Mikel Arteta’s team plays Athletic Club to wrap up their pre-season before travelling to Manchester to begin the Premier League season against Ruben Amorim’s United.
How many goals has Gyokeres scored in his Sporting CP career?
He has netted 97 times in just 102 appearances.
How many trophies did he win at the club?
He lifted two league titles and the Portuguese Cup.
Who is Viktor’s father?
Stefan Gyökeres is the father of Sporting CP striker.
What is the current status of transfer negotiation in Gyokeres’s case?
Sporting want a higher initial fee, and are not happy with the almost unattainable add-ons that Arsenal are offering.
What was the initial plan?
Arsenal had intended to finalise the deal before they left for their preseason tour of Asia on Saturday.
