Viktor Gyokeres provides update on future transfer & Arsenal links

The Swedish striker is being pursued by many clubs around Europe
Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres has become the top target of Arsenal’s relentless search for a prolific striker, and his recent comments regarding the Gunners’ link will give the fans some hope.
With an incredible 53 goals and 13 assists in 51 games this season in all competitions, the 26-year-old has been a revelation in Portugal and is now one of Europe’s most sought-after attackers.
Arsenal are ready to strengthen their front line as the summer transfer market opens on June 1st, and Gyokeres seems to be sporting director Andrea Berta’s primary target.
Since moving from Coventry City to Liga Portugal in July 2023, the Swedish striker has been a revelation at Sporting, scoring an incredible 95 goals in just 100 games.
With 39 goals and eight assists in 33 games this season, Sporting CP’s top scorer has really shone in the Primeira Liga.
Rui Borges’ club has benefited greatly from the 26-year-old striker’s performances on the field, which have helped them win another league championship.
We will see this summer: Viktor Gyokeres on Arsenal links
In his last match for Sporting yesterday, Gyokeres won the Taça de Portugal. The game went into extra time after the striker’s penalty kick in the 101st minute of play.
After the game, the Sweden international addressed his future with Sporting CP and said: “It’s impossible to say, we never know what happens in football”. “Arsenal links? I don’t know anything. My focus was on the games. If the links were true then… we will see this summer”.
£60 million price tag for Gyokeres
According to reports, Arsenal have made great strides, submitting a proposal of £60 million to Sporting CP and offering Gyokeres a lucrative contract worth £7 million annually after taxes.
Mikel Arteta’s resolve to fill Arsenal’s need for a clinical number nine, which has periodically hampered their title challenge despite a solid campaign, is demonstrated by this move. Arsenal wants to contend for major prizes, and Gyokeres’ physicality, goal-scoring instinct, and Champions League skills fit the bill.
