Villarreal president makes BOLD claims to fans regarding LaLiga game against Barcelona in USA

Villarreal have made a historic choice that will undoubtedly generate conversation, mainly in a good way.

Unless there are last-minute adjustments, the Yellow Submarine’s next LaLiga game versus Barcelona is slated for December 20 and will take place in Miami. Yes, you read that right, outside Spain!

Only FIFA and UEFA’s confirmation is needed; both clubs and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have already approved it.

For the first time ever, a LaLiga game would take place outside of Spain. This decision has sparked strong feelings among both fan bases, many of whom are against moving the eagerly awaited showdown between the “groguets” and the Catalan powerhouses.

The Yellow Submarine have a strategy to allay fans’ fears

Villarreal have revealed a strategy to allay fears and guarantee that its fans don’t miss one of the most alluring games of the season.

On Tuesday, club president Fernando Roig made the news, saying:

“Every fan who wants to travel to Miami to see the game will do so free of charge—travel, tickets, and with no limit on requests.” 

For fans travelling, the club will pay for all of their expenditures. Additionally, Roig affirmed that season pass holders who are unable to attend or not interested will get a 20% refund.

Additionally, he promised that any proceeds from the game in the US will go straight back into the club’s supporter base.

“This is an incredible opportunity for us to play this game,” Roig explained. 

Roig reaffirmed, acknowledging the possible inconvenience to supporters:

 “Anyone who wants to go to Miami will go—free of charge. Those who cannot or do not wish to attend will receive a significant 20% discount on their pass.”  

”Our season ticket holders will be compensated. For the good of football, Villarreal, and LaLiga, I believe it is essential this match takes place. From now until December 20, this will be a topic of constant discussion.”
