The Selecao will face Chile and Bolivia in the September qualifiers.
According to the reports, Vinicius Jr won’t be a part of the Brazil national team’s squad for the upcoming September 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
With Uruguay and Paraguay in solid positions to secure their place in the 2026 World Cup, Argentina, Brazil, and Ecuador have already guaranteed their spots in next year’s major event.
The official squad for the Selecao’s final two games prior to the 2026 World Cup will be unveiled on August 25 in Rio de Janeiro, the CBF has revealed. The Canarinha will go to Bolivia in El Alto on September 10 and host Chile in Rio de Janeiro on September 5.
Carlo Ancelotti expected to omit Vinicius from Selecao’s squad
Vinicius will not be part of Ancelotti’s roster for those two games, according to Globo Esporte. After being shown a yellow card during the match against Paraguay, the Real Madrid winger will be sidelined for one game against Chile.

The winger will not be called up by the Italian coach for the second match against Bolivia. Due to this decision, the winger will not be playing at Estadio Municipal El Alto.
The Selecao are currently third in the table and have already secured their place in next year’s competition. However, in Ancelotti’s first two games as head coach of the Selecao, the team only managed to secure one win, which came against Paraguay.
On the other hand, Ancelotti’s side have been handed a major boost as star player Neymar, who is currently back in Brazil playing for his old team Santos, is also expected to be named in the upcoming Seleçao squad after remaining fit so far for Santos and playing seven games in a row.
