The Brazilian star’s success on the field has often been overshadowed by controversies.

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr may retire from football early, according to Eden Hazard, who made shocking analogies between the Brazilian’s current situation and his own tenure at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Hazard shared a locker room with Vinicius for four seasons, but the two stars rarely played together. Hazard feels he has a special understanding of the player’s psyche.

Similar to Hazard during his heyday at Chelsea, the former captain of the Belgian national team feels that Vinicius’ performance is essentially motivated by a basic love for the game. However, the poisonous atmosphere surrounding Vinicius in recent months threatens the very core of his game.

Vinicius Jr faces a challenging environment as his sporting accomplishments are increasingly overshadowed by controversies, racist slurs, and confrontations with opposition fans, despite the Brazilian’s continued exceptional performances while wearing the Real Madrid shirt.

Hazard said to RTBF: “He’s just someone who loves football, who loves to play and just wants to have fun. A bit like me when I was on the pitch.”

“Now, we talk more about what he does or what he endures than what he brings to the pitch. People forget what an exceptional player he is. It must weigh heavily on him. It can’t be easy to go into a match and just think about football. He has so much on his mind before a match, I sometimes think, ‘Poor guy.’ He knows he’s going to face this, that not much happens in terms of sanctions. It must be a burden; I wouldn’t be surprised if, at 30, he says he’s leaving, that he’s quitting football because, in any case, nothing changes.”

Given that Vinicius was frequently chastised for his celebration and contacts with rival supporters, Hazard gave his former teammate some wise counsel.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid player also acknowledged that the Brazilian is physically and intellectually strong, but he argued that minor adjustments to his on-field demeanour could help change the public opinion.

When will Vinicius Jr. retire, according to Eden Hazard?

He feels the forward might retire at the age of 30.

At what age did Hazard retire?

He retired at the age of 32.
