Was Uruguay's final squad for FIFA World Cup 2026 LEAKED?

La Celeste are set to take on Spain, Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde in group stage.

The Uruguay national football team is now going to compete in their 15th edition of the FIFA World Cup. They have conquered the world stage twice, back in 1930 and 1950.

Led by Marcelo Bielsa, La Celeste have not been in a top run of form in their last four fixtures. Before the mega competition, they are not yet scheduled to play any international friendlies. Uruguay need to build some momentum here as their performances during the World Cup qualifiers were also average.

For the upcoming edition of FIFA’s flagship tournament, they are placed in Group H along with the likes of Spain, Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde. It is not going to be an easy group stage run for them, unless they come up with a better strategy. Anyhow, the Uruguay national football team is likely to get to the knockout stage.

While several nations have announced their final squads, La Celeste are yet to unveil their final list of players for the FIFA World Cup 2026. A social media post is gaining some attention, which claims to have revealed the squad list. The Uruguayan Football Association and FIFA have not yet officially revealed any details.

Leaked Uruguay final 26-man squad

As per a recent post on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the final list of 26 players to represent the Uruguay national football team at the FIFA World Cup 2026 has now been unveiled.

The posted graphic is most likely fan-made and could be fake, as nothing is confirmed so far. Stars like Federico Valverde, Darwin Nunez, Manuel Ugarte and Rodrigo Bentancur are included.

Marcelo Bielsa and Uruguay are yet to unveil the final list of players who are going to step foot on the grandest stage of them all. It is likely to be announced in the coming week.
