West Ham vs Brentford Preview, prediction, lineups, betting tips & odds | Premier League 2025-26

The Hammers will take on the Bees on matchday eight of the Premier League.

West Ham United will lock horns against Brentford as the home team will be hungry to get their second win of the season. Newly appointed head coach Nuno Santos and his boys will be motivated for this match, as it is a London Derby. The Portuguese manager is yet to taste victory with the Hammers, and it will be his first home game as the Hammers manager.

Before the international break, they faced Arsenal, and they were very poor as they failed to even hit a shot on target and lost the game 2-0. After seven league games, they are sitting in 19th position, with four points on the table. Pressure is building up, and fans are already very frustrated with how things are going. The management and players will be under a lot of pressure, and they will have to get back-to-back good results to turn this situation around.

On the other hand, Brentford are still in a period of transition, and surely it will take some time. After seven league matches in the Premier League, they have won twice, drawn once and lost four matches. With seven points on the table, they are sitting in the 16th position.

Fans are not happy with the results so far, but the coaching staff and players will be confident of getting good results in the upcoming matches. The Bees have been underwhelming to watch in terms of their performance level, but they are capable of getting good results in the upcoming fixtures. This will be a mouthwatering clash.

Bowen mostly operates in the half spaces, making it hard to mark him. He is quite technical, direct, mobile and has a good eye for goal. Although he isn’t a very high-volume passer, his passes are mostly very threatening, most of them originating from half-spaces.

Bowen has good anticipation, knowing when to attack the space and make runs in transitions. Even though his performance hasn’t been great this season so far, he still has the quality to make a difference on the field. This season, he has played eight games in which he has scored three times.

Igor Thiago (Brentford)

The Bess lost two really good players in the transfer window, and Igor Thiago is their perfect replacement. Even though the team hasn’t had good results, Thiago has still performed quite well, and even fans are impressed by his quality. In seven games so far, he has scored four goals; he is someone who perfectly fits the Bees’ style of play. Under Keith Andrews, he has done really well so far, and surely he will be the biggest threat to the Hammers’ defence on Monday.
