Julen Lopetegui will be delighted with his team’s response in recent games.

A much improved West Ham side are now set to take on Brighton who have not been at their best recently. The match will be played at the London Stadium on Saturday in round 17 of the Premier League action.

West Ham have shown much improvement in their recent form with manager Julen Lopetegui optimistic that his side will start delivering the results. The Hammers have gathered four points from their last two matches with a 2-1 victory against Wolves followed by a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in the last game. Against Bournemouth, they were on the verge of securing a win before Enes Ünal’s free kick in the 90th minute brought the home team level.

Brighton on the other hand after an encouraging start to the season have faded in the last few games as they dropped down to ninth position in the table with 24 points. The Seagulls are without a win in their previous four matches in the league having lost two against Fulham and Crystal Palace in the previous games and drawing the other two against Southampton and Leicester City. However, a win here against the Hammers can hopefully bring the confidence and hunger back to the team.

Players to Watch

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham)

Jarrod Bowen has emerged as an excellent player for the Hammers who is delivering consistent performances for the team in each game despite not getting on the score sheet regularly. The West Ham skipper was a complete menace in their 2-1 win over Wolves where he set up the first goal and slotted past the winning goal to bring them back to winning ways. This season, he has four goals to his name while also adding four assists to his tally.

Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton)

Kaoru Mitoma is starting to recapture his brilliant form which saw him become one of the standout wingers in the league in the past few seasons. The Japanese international has scored two goals in his past five games compared to his one goal in the previous eleven games. Known for his explosive pace and excellent dribbling skills, Mitoma can become the difference-maker here if he starts to convert his chances.
