The Gunners eye their first-ever UCL title.
Arsenal will be eyeing the prestigious UEFA Champions League title. They will be squaring off against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Puskás Arena, Budapest.
Defending champions PSG will be looking forward to securing their second consecutive title, after winning 5-0 against Inter Milan in the previous edition. The achievement will make PSG only the ninth side in the competition’s history and the second team in the 21st century to win successive titles.
Arsenal, on the other hand, will aim to provide tough competition for the French side. The London-based outfit are coming into the matchup as the Premier League champions after securing the title after 23 years. It will also be their first UCL final appearance after 20 years, after losing 2-1 to Spanish club FC Barcelona in 2006.
What could the Champions League 2025- 26 title mean for Arsenal?

Securing the title will have a huge impact on Arsenal and English football history. The title would be Arsenal’s first European trophy in over 140 years of existence. This is despite its long and prestigious history.
The victory would make Arsenal only the 23rd distinct club to win the title, joining a host of clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Liverpool. A win would put the team alongside their arch-rivals, Chelsea, in UCL victories, balancing a debate that Arsenal have been trailing in over the years.
The victory would bring back the title to England after three years, since Manchester City’s historic treble run in 2023. It would also be an English team’s 16th win of the coveted trophy, placing them right behind Spain’s LaLiga, which leads with 20 titles. Arsenal would also become only the third English team to win their first-ever title in the 21st century, since Chelsea in 2012 and Manchester City in 2023.
Since the format change in 1992, the competition has only seen 14th first-time winners. If Arsenal manage to win tonight, they will become the 15th distinct champion. Arsenal can also be the seventh team to win the trophy in their second attempt, since Manchester City’s win in 2023.
It would also be the culmination of Mikel Arteta’s six-year project, progressing from a side who have been constantly failing to secure Champions League football to the top of European football. It will surely put him in an elite list of active managers with the UCL title.
