What injury did Tottenham's Micky van de Ven suffer against Manchester City in EFL Cup?

The Dutchman was replaced in the match after he couldnât continue.
During the first half of Tottenhamâs EFL Cup Round of 16 match against Manchester City, Micky van de Ven was substituted out with what looked to be a hamstring injury.
The Dutch defender, who had begun the game at left-back, gripped the back of his thigh and was distressed as Destiny Udogie took his place.
Timo Wernerâs well-taken goal put Spurs ahead 1-0 at the time. Yves Bissouma followed Van de Ven down the tunnel to embrace him as he left the field, clearly distraught. He did make a comeback to the Spurs bench in the second half.
However, Spurs are quite concerned about the issue as they will play Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
âMicky felt something in his hamstring,â Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou said. âI havenât got the full update on him but he definitely felt something and weâll see how he is.â
Around the same time last season, Van de Ven sustained a hamstring injury that kept him out of action for two months.
Wilson Odobert, a forward for Spurs, is already expected to miss a significant amount of time due to a âseriousâ setback in his recuperation from a hamstring injury this week, according to head coach Postecoglou.
Pep Guardiola and Postecoglou have both criticized the schedule. Before the match, the City manager Guardiola stated that he would not âtake a riskâ with any of his weary players in the Carabao Cup.
With Van de Venâs regular partner in defence, Cristian Romero, the Australian coach did clarify that his substitution in the second half was due to exhaustion.
Radu Dragusin, who began Wednesdayâs match versus City, will probably fill in for his teammate while the Netherlands international is sidelined due to injury.
Tottenham will next play a crucial match in the Premier League as they hope to cut the gap of the top four.
