Where and how to watch UEFA Champions League last 16 draw’s live stream?
As usual, UEFA’s official website, uefa.com, will webcast the Champions League draw live worldwide.
The draw will also be shown live in the UK on TNT Sports and in the USA on Paramount+. This is because UEFA’s official broadcast partners usually broadcast draws one way or another. In the case of India, Sony LIV will be doing the live streaming while channels such as Sony Sports 2 and Sony Sports 2HD will do the broadcasting.
How does the Champions League Round of 16 draw work?
A club’s final league standing significantly determines the knockout bracket. For example, in the round of 16, Liverpool and Barcelona, who were first and second, can only play teams that were ranked 15th, 16th, 17th, or 18th (PSG, Benfica, Monaco, or Brest).
The draw in this new format assigns teams to a spot in the bracket to generate a fixture instead of pitting one team against another.
Last month, the teams competing in the knockout playoff round and their opponents were selected based on their bracket positions. Now PSG and Benfica are currently Liverpool’s and Barcelona’s only opponents choices heading into the draw.
The first club drawn out of Liverpool and Barcelona will be put in the top half of the bracket and hence face PSG. While the other team will go automatically into the bottom half against Benfica.
After this stage, there will be no draws for the quarterfinal and semifinal ties, as the bracket structure makes it crystal clear.
How is the Champions League bracket forming up?
Real Madrid and PSG appear to be in the top half of the knockout playoff round bracket. If the LaLiga giants progress, in the quarterfinals, Real Madrid will either face Arsenal, PSV or Inter Milan.
However, because they are in opposing halves, Real Madrid and PSG cannot meet Bayern Munich until the final game. Juventus’ defeat by PSV does lessen the daunting fixtures of the top half.
