Tottenham Hotspur are now in the relegation zone, and they just have six games in hand to keep their berth locked in the English Premier League for the upcoming season. Roberto De Zerbi was recently appointed the new manager of the Lilly Whites, but his start was not what he had hoped for.

The Spurs are coming in after facing a 0-1 loss at the hands of Sunderland in their last league outing. It was another poor performance by them. Their attacking front, with names like Richarlison, Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani, is failing to perform.

Tottenham’s midfield efforts were also not good enough. Conor Gallagher, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray made some poor decisions. They came in contact with the ball several times, but their touches were not on point.

The Lilly Whites haven’t secured a win in their last 14 English Premier League matches. They have also failed to leave an impact on the EFL Cup and FA Cup. The Spurs only reached the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League and were then knocked out by Atletico Madrid.

When was Tottenham’s last Premier League victory?

The Spurs defeated Crystal Palace away from home on 28 December 2025, and that marks their last win in the PL. They haven’t secured a win in the English top division in 2026. Their last win at home in the competition came against Brentford on December 6, 2025.

As per the current scenario, Tottenham are in 18th place on the Premier League points table. They are in the relegation zone at the moment. In 32 matches, they have only managed to secure seven wins in the league this season.

The Lilly Whites have six games in hand before the season comes to an end. Roberto De Zerbi’s men cannot afford to lose any more points.

“They can definitely do better on the pitch and the key is to restore the mental strength of the squad,” mentioned the Italian manager during the Sunderland post-match interview.

Notably, Tottenham Hotspur have been suffering because many of their players are out of action due to injuries. The recent addition to the list is the Argentine defender & captain Cristian Romero. He left the pitch in tears during the recent league encounter against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
