One of the biggest competitions in the sport has arrived. Fans are brimming with excitement as the FIFA World Cup 2026 is just a day away.
Fans around the world will tune into their respective live stream mediums and TV channels to watch the games. Meanwhile, the supporters in India will once again have to stay up nights or tune in early to watch the games. Most of the fixtures will take place after midnight and very early in the morning.
Previously, FIFA was unable to find a broadcaster partner in India during the past few weeks. It placed the hopes of millions of Indian fans watching the tournament in jeopardy. But supporters in India can watch the games live now as FIFA managed to find a broadcasting partner.
Last week, FIFA managed to strike a broadcasting deal with Indian ZEE’s digital and television networks. It will allow Indian football fans to tune into World Cup games.
Where and how to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 in India?
In India, the fans can stream the games on the ZEE5 app or their website. They can download the app and buy a FIFA WC 26 subscription to watch the matches.
The fans can also live-broadcast the game on TV on Zee’s new Unite8 Sports network (Unite8 Sports 1, Unite8 Sports 1 HD, Unite8 Sports 2 and Unite8 Sports 2 HD).
With ZEE5, you can watch every World Cup match live on your laptops, tablets, smartphones, and smart TVs. Both Hindi and English commentary are available.
Fans can purchase the “All Access + Sports” three-month plan, which costs Rs 799 (about Rs 266 per month). It will cover the entire duration of the competition and some more.
Which games will Doordarshan broadcast?
Indians will have another broadcasting channel that will telecast the important knockout stage matches. Doordarshan will air a selective set of matches.
They will telecast the opening game between Mexico and South Africa. Additionally, all quarterfinal and semifinal games, as well as the final match.
