The Frenchman has been courted by many European clubs.
Hugo Ekitike, a forward for Eintracht Frankfurt, has raised questions about his future after admitting that Manchester United was his favourite team as a child.
When asked which side he had supported as a child in a recent interview, the attacker gave the straightforward but telling response, “My favourite club as a child was Manchester United. I’ve always admired them.”

The Premier League team needs more firepower to support Rasmus Hojlund, hence Man United are anticipated to be looking to recruit attacking players.
The young Danish striker may possibly be leaving Old Trafford, if reports are to be believed, which would make the need for a new number nine much more pressing.
After a challenging stint at Paris Saint-Germain, Ekitike has established himself as a major attacking threat at Eintracht Frankfurt with 19 goals and seven assists during the 2024-25 season in all competitions.
The 21-year-old is being watched by a number of teams, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea, according to Todo Fichajes. Ekitike has surfaced as a possible answer as United are in dire need of attacking reinforcements.
If Man United wants to compete at the top level once more, investing in a vibrant, in-form striker like Ekitike could be a good first step. However, he won’t be cheap—his price tag is allegedly about €80 million. Now, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has the upper hand.
If Chelsea and Arsenal decide to increase their efforts to get Ekitike, the Red Devils may have a difficult time getting him. For a young star like Ekitike, both London clubs are significantly more appealing because they are in a better position to compete for trophies and get Champions League football.
Their issues have been made worse by Man United’s difficulties this season. Persuading top players to join could be difficult because the side finished in the bottom half of the Premier League standings last season.
