Only a few head coaches have lifted the Club World Cup trophy more than once.

This year’s FIFA Club World Cup will be different after FIFA decided to make some changes and revamp the competition. Previously, there were seven clubs across the globe playing in the tournament, but starting from 2025, 32 clubs will be competing for the trophy every four years.

The hype around the revamped competition is already growing. The United States is set to welcome many of the world’s biggest clubs. However, the limelight will mainly be on European clubs such as Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester City, Juventus, Benfica, and Borussia Dortmund.

They will all be the big favourites to go deeper in the event to clinch the title. However, we still expect them to certainly face many challenges from other clubs from various continents.

European clubs’ domination in this competition is clear as Madrid hold the record for most trophies won, with five, winning it in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2022. Behind them are Barcelona with three, while Bayern Munich have won it twice.

Just as clubs have built legacies in this tournament, several managers have also left their mark by winning the Club World Cup with different teams. Here, we take a closer look at one such manager who has lifted the trophy during his career.

Which manager has won the most FIFA Club World Cup titles?

Pep Guardiola holds the record for the most FIFA Club World Cup titles as a manager. The Spanish tactician claimed his first title with Barcelona in 2009, before adding a second with the Catalan giants in 2011.

He continued his dominance in the tournament by winning a third title in 2013 with Bayern Munich.

Guardiola secured his fourth Club World Cup crown with Manchester City, guiding the Premier League champions to victory over Fluminense in the final, further cementing his legacy as one of the most successful managers in modern football.
