The teenager scored on his first team debut.
Dro Fernández scored his first goal for Barça and displayed some of the traits that coach Hansi Flick must admire in midfield in just nine minutes against Vissel Kobe.
Football fans are curious about the identity and origins of Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández, who scored the third goal in FC Barcelona’s 3-1 victory over Vissel Kobe in the opening game of the Asian tour that corresponds to the 2025–26 pre-season.
Because he was alternating between playing for Juvenil B and A in the 2024–2025 season when he joined the first team for the preseason, “Dro” is not as well-known as other talents.
Fernandez made an impact in his first game for Barca
‘Dro’ made his anticipated first appearance with the first team in the 79th minute of the game, coming on as Marcus Rashford’s replacement during the pre-season clash.
The youngster demonstrated flashes of his skill in a few minutes on the field, amply demonstrating why coach Hansi Flick and youth coaches have faith in him.
In theory, he can start knocking on the first team’s door this season. Additionally, he might join the first team full-time if he has a strong preseason.

Who is the new La Masia wonderkid Dro Fernandez?
The player, 17, hails from the province of Pontevedra, namely Nigrán. The Val Miñor Nigrán School was where Dro Fernández played football for the first time.
He joined Barça in the summer of 2022 as one of Cadete B’s best players, and he later made his Cadete A debut. It should be noted that he became a “pearl” of La Masía by winning the LaLiga, Copa, and UEFA Youth League with Juvenil A.
His technical style also makes him an adaptable player, as he can play as an attacking midfielder by nature, as well as a winger, inside midfielder, or false ‘9’.
Because his father also goes by Pedro, his sibling chose to call him “Dro” to distinguish him from his father. His father is Galician, and his mother is Filipino.
Will ‘Dro’ be starting games for the first team from next season?
Dro Fernandez demonstrated that he could be ready to play for the senior team, but it looks like his minutes will be limited on the pitch in the first team.
However, he has impressed in the first pre-season game and will certainly get more chances that will further confirm if he could be a major contributor to the senior team for the upcoming season.
How old is Dro Fernandez currently?
Dro is 17 years old.
Which position does ‘Dro’ play in?
He is a versatile attacking midfielder who can also operate as a winger or as a false 9.
