The Red Devils have landed a highly talented young forward.

According to Le Parisien, Manchester United have reached a deal with Le Havre to sign Enzo Kana-Biyik, who will be Ruben Amorim’s first acquisition for the 2025 summer transfer window.

Despite being a highly regarded talent, the 18-year-old striker decided not to extend his contract with the Normandy club. Le Havre had hoped he would extend his contract so he could continue to grow with the Ligue 1 team that faces relegation.

However, it is now anticipated that the son of Cameroon icon André Kana-Biyik would join the Premier League club.

According to the reports, he has been given clear plans for advancement, but he will play his first season on loan at Lausanne-Sport, another Swiss club owned by INEOS.

Monaco and Marseille were also trying to court the teenage striker, so Kana-Biyik had plenty of options. As part of their recruitment campaign, he was even given the opportunity to tour OM’s esteemed Commanderie training facility.

But it’s thought that Amorim’s personal involvement in his growth and United’s long-term development plan persuaded him and his representatives that England was the best place for him to go.

Who is Enzo Kana-Biyik?

Enzo Kana-Biyik was born in a football family. He comes from a family with a long history in the sport; his brother, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, also won caps for the national team, and his father, André Kana-Biyik, represented Cameroon internationally.

During his nearly ten-year Cameroonian career, his father, Andre, earned 80 international caps while playing for Le Havre in the early 1990s.

Enzo’s older brother, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, began his playing career with Le Havre and then played for Rennes, Toulouse, and Metz, as well as spending five years in Turkey.

Expectations are already high because of his legacy, and Manchester United will be hoping he can emulate Paul Pogba, another well-known Le Havre alumnus. At the age of 16, the World Cup winner moved from the same youth setup to United, and Kana-Biyik seems to be following in his footsteps.

Kana-Biyik has been making an impression as a centre-forward for Le Havre’s U19 team this season despite not playing for the first team.

Since the beginning of 2025, he has been a consistent member of Le Havre U19, playing 90 minutes in each of their past eight league games and tallying four goals to bring his season total to eight.

What is Enzo Kana-Biyik’s playing style like?

Journalist Christopher Michel calls the teenager a “great talent,” while Scouts praise him for his “attacking flair and instinctive finishing.”

The young striker has made an impression in the Le Havre’s reserves. The 18-year-old forward has earned a reputation for being strong in duels while also demonstrating surprising agility and rapid movement given his stature.

Even though he hasn’t yet played for Le Havre’s senior team, scouts have been drawn to his displays, and United have taken fast action to outbid rivals for his services.
