Johan Manzambi’s brace proved to be the winner for the Schweizer Nati in tonight’s match.

Switzerland sealed a comfortable 4-1 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group B clash at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 18. After a tight first half, Manzambi’s two goals were decisive, sending the Schweizer Nati to the top of the group.

The European side began the match well, having several shots at their opposition’s goal. However, the lack of a cutting edge in the final third meant that Nikola Vasilj was not troubled. After a goalless first half, the deadlock was broken by Manzambi, who came on as a substitute just three minutes earlier.

Ruben Vargas managed to find the midfielder with a good cross into the box. Manzambi fired a rocket first-time volley that flew past the Bosnian goalkeeper and nestled into the back of the net. This goal marked his first in the quadrennial tournament.

The Dragons’ task was made more difficult when Tarik Muharemovic was sent off for denying Breel Embolo a goal-scoring opportunity. The Swiss side made full use of their man advantage, with Vargas doubling the lead in the 84th minute.

Manzambi then popped up in the right place at the right time again, scoring his second goal of the night and the Nati’s third in the 90th minute. It was another fine goal from the midfielder, who converted Granit Xhaka’s cross with a composed finish.

Ermin Mahmic’s superb goal in the 93rd minute proved to be a mere consolation for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mahmic later turned from hero to villain after giving away a late penalty, which Xhaka converted to seal a big win.
