Who is Tyler Dibling?
Tyler Dibling’s performance has attracted many clubs and Premier League giants have started keeping an eye on the player who they feel has great potential.
Dibling, who was raised in Exeter, began his playing career with the local team Axminster Town AFC, where his father Sam was a member of the men’s squad. At the age of five, he became a member of Millwey Rise FC and played for the youth team for two years. After a year at Exeter City, the young winger made the move to Southampton in 2012. He came up the ranks at the club and in October 2021 the teenager signed a professional contract with the Saints.
Dibling spent most of his youth career playing for the Saints, but he was also a part of the Chelsea academy for a short time, though the player failed to impress and returned to Southampton.
On September 17, 2022, Dibling committed to Southampton on a scholarship, saying the team was like a “second home” to him. He is regarded as one of their best assets. He inked his first professional deal on February 22, 2023. He further extended his contract on December 18, 2023, tying him to the team until 2026.
His performance at youth level gave him a chance to play for the senior team and on 17 August 2024, Dibling made his first Premier League appearance for the Saints in their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
The midfielder later scored his first-ever goal for the senior squad on 21 September in their 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town.
Dibling has been a revelation for the Saints in the new season and if continues to shine for them, then he could soon be seen playing for a top English club. But, for now, he remains at Southampton and will be focused on doing his best for the club.
