The quarter-final could have witnessed both Bellingham brothers facing each other.
Jobe Bellingham wonât be facing his brother Jude Bellingham when Borussia Dortmund play Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 quarter-final.
Both teams reached the last eight of the competition after they had to scrape out narrow wins against their respective opponents. Los Blancos beat Juventus 1-0, while Dortmund overcame C.F. Monterrey 2-1.
The win for both teams means they will face each other, and both brothers could have set up a clash against each other, but Jobe is set to miss the German clubâs crucial match after the midfielder picked up a second yellow card against C.F. Monterrey.
Why Jobe Bellingham will miss the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final vs Real Madrid?
His first yellow card came against Ulsan Hyundai in the final group game. Two bookings result in a one-game suspension, meaning the player will sit out the most important match for his side.

The English star made a move to the Bundesliga team during the summer window from Sunderland and has appeared in all of Dortmundâs fixtures in the Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr are walking a tightrope, and if they receive a yellow card against Dortmund, both players will miss the semi-final game of the Spanish should the club progresses further in the tournament.
However, the quarter-final could have been even more exciting as both brothers might have faced each other and played key roles in leading their side to the next round of the event.
The former Sunderland star has exhibited exceptional performance in the competition, and his absence will be felt in Dortmundâs next game as they will cross paths with one of the favourites of the tournament.
Both Dortmund and Madrid have a long history of facing each other in major competitions, and their previous meeting occurred in the 2024 Champions League final. Once again, this latest chapter promises to deliver another thrilling encounter, despite the absence of one Bellingham.
