Why Kylian Mbappe will miss Real Madrid game tonight against Real Sociedad in Copa del Rey?

The Frenchman is not fit to play tonight’s game.
Kylian Mbappe missed training on Tuesday after having surgery on Monday to extract a tooth that had been causing him trouble. When questioned about the situation, Carlo Ancelotti responded to the media by saying that “he will travel” to Donostia-San Sebastian.
Although Ancelotti’s words indicated that the Frenchman will play tonight it appears he isn’t fully fit to participate in the game and is set to miss the contest.
With 28 goals in 39 games across all competitions, Mbappe leads the scoring charts and has been a key member of the Madrid team this season.
Following a broken nose at last summer’s Euro 2024, Mbappé has not had a major injury during his time at Madrid. Regular starters Federico Valverde and Thibaut Courtois were also left off, as Ancelotti plans to rest them.
Kylian Mbappé’s likely offensive alternatives are Brazil’s Endrick and Brahim Díaz. Diaz has been playing frequently in past matches, so it might be the turn of Endrick. The Brazilian sensation should once again get a big chance to show his qualities again.
Another youngster Arda Guler might receive an opportunity tonight as Ancelotti will look to rotate his starting lineup to provide rest to other first-team players.
More in-depth of Courtois and Valverde’s situation
Los Blancos determined that the risk of having Valverde play at the Reale Arena was not worth it, even though he did work out while experiencing muscle soreness.
Additionally, Real Madrid’s Italian coach did not entirely rule out Fede Valverde, who is predicted to sit out against Real Sociedad after using painkillers during last week’s match against Manchester City.
The goal is for him to be fully recovered for their Champions League matchup against Atletico Madrid the following week. Thibaut Courtois, meanwhile, has also been left out. He will miss the game and in his absence, Andriy Lunin will play the encounter tonight.
