Why Real Madrid are planning to move back to 442 formation?

The former Dortmund midfielder has failed to score this season.
Jude Bellingham could return to his more offensive role, where he excelled last season, according to Carlo Ancelottiās plans. The Real Madrid coach plans to return to the 4-4-2 lineup. Bellingham was forced to play deeper in midfield since Kylian Mbappe arrived, which reduced his opportunities to score goals.
Ancelotti is eager for Bellingham to return to his more advanced position since they have important games going forward, including the El Clasico against Barcelona coming up next. They want the midfielder to regain his goalscoring form this season.
The 20-year-old produced 23 goals in this capacity last season, and the squad is hopeful he can go back to his best once again when he is involved more during the teamās attack.
Real Madrid and Jude Bellingham are both concerned after the player has failed to score in his past ten games. The English midfielder, who had scored a lot of goals the previous season, is having trouble scoring now.
The England internationalās goal drought didnāt appear to deter Ancelotti, though, as he highlighted the playerās true contribution to the club.
Speaking to reporters, the Italian coach said: āWeāre satisfied with his work, Iām very satisfied. He works a lot, heās always present, he competes, he fights, he sacrifices himself. Itās true he hasnāt scored the goals he scored last year, but the surprise isnāt this year, the surprise was last year, when he scored lots of goals which nobody expected and helped us a lot. The problem this year isnāt that weāre lacking Bellinghamās goals.
āWeāve always scored goals, and weāll always score, because we have talented players up front. For us, in this moment, the work heās doing is more important than the goals the scored last year.ā
Mbappe and Bellingham are both expected to start for reigning LaLiga winners Real Madrid when they play Barcelona in the Spanish first tier on Sunday at Santiago Bernabeu.
