Diaz will miss many big games for Los Blancos.

Brahim Diaz, a midfielder for Real Madrid, will miss at least two months after an injury he suffered against Real Sociedad.

In the 25th minute of Madrid’s 2-0 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday, the Morocco international was substituted with Rodrygo after being forced off.

Having started as a substitute in Madrid’s last four league games, the former Manchester City midfielder made his first league start of the season in that game.

Due to a hip abductor injury, Diaz, 25, now could be missing Madrid‘s next eight LaLiga games. It includes the team’s opening El Clasico of the season on October 27 against FC Barcelona.

“Following tests carried out today on our Brahim Díaz by the Real Madrid medical department, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the abductor longus muscle of his right leg,” said a club medical report on Sunday.

Additionally, he will be absent from the start of Madrid’s UEFA Champions League title defence. The title defence starts on Tuesday against VfB Stuttgart at home and goes through matches against Lille and Borussia Dortmund in October.

The playmaker who was on loan at AC Milan for the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons had scored 18 goals in 124 games across all competitions.

At the age of 14, Diaz moved to City from Malaga in 2013. He played in the first-team squad for fifteen games before agreeing to a six-and-a-half-year contract with Real Madrid in 2019.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti cleared Eder Militao to play against Sociedad for 90 minutes. Nonetheless, the Italian coach stated defence rotations are anticipated by midweek.

David Alaba is still out. Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni will need to pass late fitness tests if they hope to play in the next game. In the meantime, Jesus Vallejo might be a good option for Ancelotti.

Real Madrid have suffered a significant setback with the loss of Brahim Diaz. The player would have been valuable in the demanding schedule Carlo Ancelotti’s team will soon encounter. Players like Arda Guler and Rodrygo Goes will be important in Diaz’s absence.
