Will Cristiano Ronaldo starting for Al-Nassr vs Al-Ittihad in Saudi Super Cup 2025 semi-final?

Ronaldo will look to start the new season by lifting a trophy.

The 2024–25 King Cup and Saudi Pro League champions and runners-up were scheduled to compete in the tournament. However, since Al-Ittihad won both, the additional spot was awarded to the league’s third-place team.

Since fourth-place Al-Qadsiah had already qualified through the King Cup, they will face Al-Ahli in the semi-final. The winner will either face Al Nassr or Al Ittihad in the final.

In 2022, when the tournament was expanded to its current four-team format, Al-Ittihad won the cup for the first time. This will mark their fifth Super Cup appearance; their most recent was in 2023, when they finished as runners-up.

In contrast, Al-Nassr, who came as runners-up last season following a 4-1 loss to Al-Hilal in the final, will be making their eighth Super Cup appearance and their second consecutive.

This time, they will hope to lift the trophy after failing to win it since 2020.

Meanwhile, their pre-season was a success, although they lost to the Spanish team Almeria. Jorge Jesus’s team had an effective pre-season, defeating SK St. Johann, Toulouse, and Rio Ave.

With six goals in his past three games, including a brace against Almeria and a hat-trick against Rio Ave, Cristiano Ronaldo has been in incredible form and will try to maintain that pace. But will he play in the competition?

Will Cristiano Ronaldo play tonight?

Ronaldo is fit and in the lineup to start against Al Ittihad. Joao Felix, who has already played a significant part in previous friendly matches, may also make his formal debut alongside the Portuguese star.

With this offensive boost, Cristiano will try to end the losing streak against Karim Benzema’s club, as he has now gone two games without a victory against them.
