Will Cristiano Ronaldo play tonight for Al-Nassr vs Al-Taawoun in Saudi Pro League 2024-25?

The Portuguese star didn’t play in Al-Nassr’s previous game.
Al-Nassr host Al-Taawoun at Al-Awwal Park tonight. The home team is set to go another season without the league title after Al-Ittihad were confirmed champions following their 3-1 win over Al-Raed.
Despite giving Al Okhdood a crushing beating in their most recent game, Stefano Pioli’s team is now in fourth place with 63 points, five points behind second-place Al Hilal.
This means that the Big Yellows have very little room for error in the next three matchdays of the 2024–25 Saudi Pro League season if they are to finish second in the table.
Al-Nassr, who last won the league title in 2018–19, are ending another season missing a major trophy, even if they have some of the most recognisable names in the division, including the perennial Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Sun Club have failed to secure the league title, but they would be happy to accept another second-place result this time, provided it keeps their ambitions of qualifying for the continental championship alive. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo made his highly publicised move to the Riyadh team in January 2023.
After the disheartening loss to leaders Al Ittihad in the previous round, they crushed Al Okhdood 9-0. Interestingly, Ronaldo was not included in the lineup for that decisive victory.
Will Ronaldo play tonight?
It appears unlikely that Ronaldo will play tonight. The striker also missed their previous match. Before tonight’s game, he wasn’t pictured in Al-Nassr’s practice session, which signals that he won’t be playing today.
The Portuguese player’s season with the club seems to be over. Al-Ittihad have won the title, and Ronaldo will now go another season trophyless. Despite remaining the top scorer in the league, Ronaldo has failed to lead Al-Nassr to any major trophy since he joined the club.
It will be interesting to see if Ronaldo will later play in Al-Nassr’s last two games, which will wrap up the club’s season with another disappointing note.
