Will Cristiano Ronaldo play tonight for Al-Nassr vs Al-Zawraa in ACL Two 2025-26?

Tonight, Zawraa Baghdad and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr will face each other in the ACL Two 2025-26 at Al-Shaab Stadium.

Al Nassr are coming off a victory, have maintained their 100% win record this season and have won all three of their previous away games, making them invincible on the road.

Al Nassr defeated Al Ittihad 2-0 last weekend, extending their incredible winning streak. The Saudi Pro League winners suffered their first home loss since May 2024 thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

With 23 goals scored and just one given up, Jorge Jesus’s winning team has won all of their recent games this campaign in all competitions.

In 2025, high-scoring results have been common for Al Nassr. The Saudi team have scored slightly under four goals per game on average in their previous 24 games since March.

This week, head coach Jesus may choose to make changes to his starting lineup. The veteran is unlikely to start at Al Zawraa Stadium; thus, it is unclear if Cristiano Ronaldo will play in Iraq.

Abdulelah Al-Amri and Sultan Al-Ghannam are two players hoping to be called up to the side on Wednesday.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo play tonight vs Al-Zawraa?

Al-Nassr’s manager, Jorge Jesus, said during the pre-game press conference that star player Cristiano Ronaldo will not feature in the game. He has not travelled for the match.

Jesus explained that the 40-year-old player’s schedule of consecutive games was the only reason for the decision to rest him. Ronaldo’s absence, he underlined, does not indicate a lack of desire to visit Iraq.

Despite his absence, Al-Nassr aren’t short of options in the attacking line. In the summer window, the club has reinforced the attack with the signings of Joao Felix and Kingsley Coman.
