Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr fans were put into a frenzy when the club finally announced the signing of UEFA Nations League winner João Félix after all the rumours. Felix is just 25 and has immense exposure already in his career. He starred alongside Cristiano Ronaldo to bring home (Portugal) the 2024-25 Nations League title.

The former Chelsea player will now look to hopefully get his debut tonight when Al-Nassr take on French side Toulouse FC. It is their second game of the pre-season after having defeated SK St. Johann 5-2. That game was played at 1508 Saalfelden Arena in Austria, and the upcoming one against the Ligue 1 opponent is scheduled to be held in Untersberg-Arena in the same country.

Felix has already participated in team training alongside Ronaldo. Talking about the latter, he was missing in the 5-2 win. Why?

Well, he had returned just a day before the game to team training, and coach Jorge Jesus didn’t feel the need to integrate him back into the team so fast, avoiding unnecessary risks of injuries.

In the 2024-25 season, Ronaldo had impressive individual stats once again. He ranked as the top scorer with 25 goals, thus winning the Golden Boot. However, his team once again couldn’t win the league title under his leadership.

That could change moving forward, as he agreed to pen a new contract to serve at the club until 2027. Moreover, coach Jesus could finally give him game time tonight to build momentum towards the next season. We might even see the striker lineup with his international teammate Felix in the game.

Ronaldo was active in all the training sessions since his return. He is more than likely to start; if not, a substitute appearance is almost certain.
