Ronaldo has already scored seven goals in the AFC Champions League tournament.

Speculations are rife about the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo missing out against Japanese side Yokohama FM in their quarter-final showdown at the AFC Champions League Elite. More so after he was rested in Al Nassr’s last match in the Saudi Pro League. The ‘Al-Alami’ head coach, Stefano Pioli, kept the prolific CR7 out of the lineup in their match against Damac.

However, with the high stakes involved in the Champions League, it is unlikely that Pioli would risk missing out on the services of his main man. Unlike the other Champions League fixtures, this one won’t be played over two legs. It’s a one-and-done kind of situation. Both teams will need to ensure that they put out their best performance.

Al Nassr defeated Iranian side Esteghlal FC over two legs in the round of 16 to reach the quarter-finals. Their performance in the tournament has been decent. The Riyadh-based side had won five out of their eight matches to make it to the knockout stages.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo be there tonight for Al-Nassr?

In all likelihood, Cristiano will surely be on the ground against Yokohama in this crucial match. The flamboyant Portuguese is in great touch and has already collected seven goals in this tournament. His last one came against Esteghlal in the round of 16 match.

Coincidentally, Cristiano is also the top scorer in the domestic league. The 40-year-old forward has smashed 23 goals in the Roshan Saudi Pro League, going past the likes of Karim Benzema, Ivan Toney and Abderrazak Hamdallah.

Despite his heroic exploits, his team, in all probability, might miss out on the Pro League trophy this year. They are placed third with 60 points behind Al Ittihad (68) and Al Hilal (62), and chances to close that gap are slim. So it looks like Al Nassr will throw their kitchen sink into winning this year’s AFC Champions League trophy at all costs.

If that is the case, you can’t even think about heading into this quarterfinal battle without your talismanic Captain.
