Manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the player will be a key part of the matchday squad against Morocco, leading to huge expectations amongst the Brazilian fans. He has announced that the teenage superstar is fully fit and will be available for the game. However, he will start the matchup on the bench, with teammate Matheus Cunha expected to lead the line.

“Every single player in this squad is important, each bringing unique traits. Matheus Cunha might not have the same finishing clinical edge as Endrick, but he remains vital for our buildup play.”

Endrick played in the nation’s pre-World Cup friendlies, scoring the decisive match-winner against Egypt in a 2-1 win. Despite his stellar performance, he faces fierce tactical competition from top striker talents. While fans have favoured the Lyon forward to start after a stellar season, the coaching staff has opted for a highly experienced veteran frontline setup, leading the manager to decide Endrick to begin the tournament as a game-changing option from the bench.

Due to the team’s tactical considerations, Endrick has participated actively in the team’s training sessions, undergoing regular preparational drills alongside the national team roster as they prepared for the tournament opener. The decision to start him on the bench was undertaken strictly as a sporting choice by Ancelotti, which sparked debate over the youngster’s role in the matchup.

The coaching team worked alongside the forward, preparing him to come on the pitch to act as the first-choice bench option. Carlo Ancelotti remains fully confident in Endrick’s ability to create attacking opportunities, praising the player’s incredible quality and involvement in crucial moments.

Brazil will be playing in Group C in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, considered a great challenge for the South American side. They will play alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti.
