Endrick has made a significant impact in limited opportunities for Brazil.

Tournament favourites Brazil will commence their 2024 Copa America campaign against Costa Rica at the SoFi Stadium in an exciting Group D affair.

The nine-time Copa America Champions come into this tournament with a fresh-looking squad of an exciting group of players sprinkled with an experienced core, under the guidance of recently appointed coach Dorival Junior.

In the absence of major stalwarts like Neymar Jr., Casemiro, and Ederson, Dorival will look to formulate an approach that can get the most out of the selected group of players.

Heading into the tournament, the Seleção Canarinha have blown hot and cold in form due to several internal issues ranging from poor tactics to disappointing individual performances and an overall drop in form, which coach Dorival will look to upturn this summer.

With many fresh faces making the final squad for Brazil, the most eye-catching pick of them all has been that of the nation’s 17-year-old sensation, Endrick. The going-to-be Real Madrid forward has defied his age through his consistent top-notch performances at the club level, making him one of the brightest talents currently in world football and one to watch out for in this Copa America.

Endrick is expected to start on the bench against Costa Rica

Even with a new-look squad this summer, Brazil boasts an incredible attacking department led by Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. Currently, the likes of Rodrygo, Raphinha, and Gabriel Martinelli look to be ahead of Endrick in the pecking order when it comes to the thought process of coach Dorival Junior.

Endrick enjoyed a respectable farewell season at Palmeiras, where he accumulated 4 goals and 2 assists across all competitions. Even with his limited national camp experience so far, Endrick has flourished for the Seleção Canarinha, as he has already scored three goals in a mere six caps for his country.

The talented young forward is expected to be eased into such a massive tournament, playing second fiddle to the first-choice attacking options. Endrick could primarily be employed as an impact substitute to bag a crucial goal during tricky situations in matches this tournament.
