Given the current state of their dressing room, Real Madrid are in complete chaos. The club are set to miss a key player for El Clásico tonight.
Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni engaged in a violent incident two days back, as previously reported. The former was knocked down and sustained a gash on his face, necessitating a trip to the hospital for stitches.
Both players’ participation in Sunday’s El Clásico is highly doubtful. Real Madrid have already initiated disciplinary proceedings against them and intend to impose severe penalties.
Federico Valverde set to miss El Clásico
Following the injury, Federico Valverde will not play for Real Madrid versus Barcelona tonight, although the LaLiga title is on the line.
The midfielder had to be transported in a wheelchair to the hospital after being struck in the head during an argument inside the dressing room.
He won’t play in tonight’s match against Barcelona since the doctors have advised him not to practice or play for at least a week.
In fact, Valverde even momentarily lost consciousness and forgot a few things after taking the blow to the head. He needed to have a CT scan because of this.
Given the situation, Valverde won’t be risked against Barcelona tonight, regardless of the club’s punishment.
The Uruguayan midfielder denied being in a physical conflict with anyone in a statement posted on Thursday. However, his club confirmed that Federico Valverde had visited the hospital and sustained a severe brain injury.
Federico Valverde might barely make it back in time for Madrid’s season-ending LaLiga match against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, May 24. He has been instructed to rest for up to two weeks.
